Perception of concrete

This is one of the contenders for my research topic: the perception of concrete as a building material.

Concrete, to me, always seemed like a very cold, hard, unforgiving material. Something that belongs in basements or storage rooms where nobody will see it. Looking at a few concrete buildings, though, made me realize that concrete can be many things.

I want to find out more about ways to make this material exude a certain feel. Color, texture, shape, and scale will all affect the perception and feel of the building, even if the material is essentially the same.

I really like this house.
